Venue resolved

I have a venue (at last). Got a call so say I can book the room at the Tipton Sports and Social as they are not going to refurb the place during January afterall.

Venue hunt 2

After a night out with friends, more local venues were generated. The Olympic club (very topical) which was fine except no dance floor and an irregular shape). Next door was the golf club - who stipulated they would provide the food and capacity was not to my spec. And finally Albrights and Wilsons.

Went there on a Sunday afternoon and there was a bouncy castle on the dance floor for a kids party. Its been a long time since I've been to a party here and its not changed much, apart from the name. Looks like I've found my venue.

Venue Hunt - 1

15th July 2012: The hunt for a suitable venue started with Uncle Terry's suggestion of
West Bromwich Labour Club & Institute. Big venue, but after a phone call saying you can book till around September and my visit in July (they never rang me back) my search went on.

A local venue we have used before is Tipton Sports & Social Club on Sedgley Road East, Tipton, West Midlands DY4 8XA.
Last time was Uncle Stewart's 40th around 5 years ago. Capacity around 150, problem is potentially they are refurbishing the venue in January.

The bar lady told me to have a look at Tipton Sports Academy on Wednesbury Oak Road. The Leisure centre has a 200 capacity room, but was unable to see room due a party going on.

29th July 2012: Went to visit Mark and Beccy who suggested Oldbury United in York Road, and the Coronation Club, Blackheath. York Road was too small and for members only and the Coronation Club was members too and the venue had 120 capacity tops.
